How enjoyable it was to be back in the familiar surroundings of St Mary’s for the annual banquet, and with everything looking so much better.

The illuminations in the chancel really showed off the conserved paintings and refurbished walls to perfection, while the new heating made the whole place pleasantly warm. Claire Ing and her team decorated the banquet with exceptional flower displays, and Jeanette Barrington produced an excellent banquet for us all – again! and many thanks to her and her team of helpers for producing such a wonderful evening. We finished off with singing Jerusalem accompanied by the music played and recorded by Chris Devonport on the new organ, magic! An amazing £1,123.86 was raised.
