An audience of more than 70 people filled the church at 3pm on Sunday 9th December and thoroughly enjoyed the concert of orchestral music performed by the Kingston Chamber Orchestra,  under their Conductor Andy Meyers.  The programme included the Sinfonia in D, Op.31 by J S Bach, Gershwin’s Four Songs, a Christmas Medley put together by Andy Meyers, and Mozart’s Violin Concerto No.5 in A , in which solo violinist Helena Ruinard showed her virtuosity with great modesty.

After the concert the Friends of St Mary’s served tea and cakes and we had a chance to talk to the members of the orchestra and thank them for their generous performance, which raised £700 for the life and work of St Mary’s. Our thanks to the Orchestra and the Friends.
