The Vicar of Chalgrove, Revd Canon Ian Cohen, is retiring. At the Sung Eucharist service on Sunday morning 22nd July, Ian celebrated for the last time in St Mary’s church, accompanied by Revd Adam Stevenson, our Methodist Minister, and Revd Christopher Evans, who was present at Ian’s Induction service in St Mary’s on 19th May 1988. There was a large congregation, including members of Ian and Sue’s family and past members of the congregation who came back to Chalgrove especially for this service. At the end of the service Bob Heath-Whyte made a presentation to Ian on behalf of the PCC and then Ian cut a cake, baked by Jeanette Barrington, which was shared amongst the congregation.

Ian and Sue are now on holiday, a holiday which will move into their retirement in a few weeks time, and we wish them every blessing for the future.

From now on please make all enquiries to the PCC Secretary, Mrs Jane Reeve (see ‘Contact us’ page for details)

All church services at St Mary’s will continue as usual, to which all are welcome.
