Since the beginning of October 2020, we have held a short service of Holy Communion at 11am on two Wednesdays each month. This service has provided a socially distanced communion to people who need it. To permit greater distancing, there has been a maximum attendance of 10.  Our next service in this series was due to be Wednesday, 4th November at 11am, at which we planned to commemorate All Souls, that day in the Christian calendar on which we pray for our Faithful Departed.

Though there will be a re-imposition of lockdown measures, beginning on Thursday 5th November, we think it is appropriate to continue as planned with our Requiem Mass for All Souls. This will be our last public act of worship for a while.  There will still be a cap of 10 on attendance at the Eucharist, but those wishing to attend are warmly invited to contact Fr Michael (vicar@chalgrovechurch.org).

Following the Requiem, we will sanitise and air the building, and open at noon for 1 hour of Prayer and Reflection.  During this time, there will be an opportunity for up to 30 people to be in the building at any one time to pray and to light a candle for a loved one (the usual social distancing rules apply).  Fr Michael will lead some short prayers each quarter hour.  If you would like to attend to pray, or to have Fr Michael to light a candle on your behalf, please be in touch by email.

Looking ahead to the lockdown, we will open for private prayer and will broadcast Daily Prayer and a Sunday Eucharist on our YouTube channel:  https://www.youtube.com/c/stmaryschalgrovewithsthelensberricksalome
