“Chalgrove we have a banquet!” was the message, and what an excellent occasion it was, with the theme of the moon landing 50 years ago. The organising team had gone to great lengths to set the atmosphere with illuminated ‘planets’ suspended in strategic places, coloured stars flying across the chancel arch, and bunting for celebration. Our tables were named too, with names of the various components of the Apollo 11 project, such as the Eagle lander, (a useful crib for answering the quiz sheet!). As we have come to expect with Jeanette’s catering, the food was superb! There was much animated conversation and laughter, and we rounded off the evening with a spirited rendition of ‘Jerusalem’, accompanied by Chris on the organ.

Thank you very much to all who worked so hard to make this a really enjoyable evening!
